The other day a client described her goal to me as her “personal Everest” and I’ve been thinking of it ever since.
So many of us have big dreams that seem impossible to accomplish.
And it’s easy to feel discouraged when you’re staring at a massive, seemingly insurmountable mountain like Everest.
I can’t even imagine how the first person to scale it felt!
But like any other walk, they took it one step at a time.
The magic in proper goal setting is that it can help break any Everest into a walk up your local hill.
Planning towards these smaller goals makes it easier to formulate a definite plan of action that gets you moving straight away.
Research also shows that accomplishing smaller milestones keeps the motivation and contentment high.
Meaning that you’ll have more fuel to keep climbing.
Chunk your goals down
So how can you apply this analogy to your life right now?
I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again, chunk your big goals and tasks down.
Trust me, you’ll be happier and more motivated to start working towards that next milestone with a smile on your face rather than a huge sigh and before you know it – you’ll be on top of Everest!
Talk soon,
